جنيف – طالبت منظمة الصحة العالمية، يوم الجمعة بضرورة وقف العدوان على غزة لكي تتمكن وشركاؤها من الاستمرار في توزيع المساعدات الطبية للمرضى الذين هم في أمس الحاجة إليها.
وقال ريتشارد بيبيركورن ممثل المنظمة في الأراضي الفلسطينية المحتلة، في تصريحات، إن الخطة التشغيلية لمنظمة الصحة العالمية تتمثل في تعزيز النظام الحالي، وزيادة عدد أسرة المشافي، والاستجابة لتفشي الأمراض، وتوفير الإمدادات وتنسيق التحويلات الطبية، داعيا إلى وقف العدوان حتى يتم التمكن من توزيع المساعدات الطبية على المرضى المحتاجين، ومعربا عن قلقه البالغ إزاء عدم قدرة المستشفيات على العمل.
وأكد أن النظام الصحي في غزة يعاني من الشلل بسبب استمرار العدوان ولم يعد بالإمكان تحمل خسارة المزيد من المستشفيات أو الأسرة داخلها، مبينا أن منظمة الصحة العالمية ظلت تركز على إيصال الإمدادات، وقد نفذت تسع عمليات توزيع للمساعدات الطبية خلال الأسابيع الماضية، إلا أن ذلك لم يكن كافيا في ظل الحاجة إلى الاستمرار في توزيع المزيد من المساعدات.
كما لفت بيبيركورن إلى أنه 18 مستشفى في القطاع من أصل 36 مازالوا يعملون بشكل جزئي، وبعضها بالكاد يعمل، كما أن هناك حاجة إلى 5 آلاف سرير على الأقل، في حين لا يتوفر سوى 1500 سرير في مستشفيات تفتقر إلى الإمدادات الطبية، مشددا على الحاجة إلى إعادة تشغيل مرافق الرعاية الصحية الأولية، وعلاج الأمراض غير المعدية، وتوفير الدعم النفسي والاجتماعي.
وكان الاحتلال الصهيوني قد عاود عدوانه الغاشم على قطاع غزة بعد ساعات فقط من انتهاء آجال الهدنة الإنسانية صباح امس.
